Finishing the Corner Cabinet

we seems to have dodged the snow yesterday, didnt amount to nothing , a good thing

today we are filming the corner cabinet finishing for the show , unfortunately time will not allow for us to do a full oil finish, but we used it to pop the figure in the tiger maple , as soon as the newsletter gets out ,I did a write up on using Waterlox as well as any good oil, the key is a good oil , one that has good resins and dries well, most of the cheap stuff doesn’t have or do either , my favorites are Waterlox and Arm R Seal ,the biggest key to a nice oil finish is to use 4 or 5 coats, wiping it back clean between coats and if you need to scuff sand it use some super fine sandpaper like 800 to 1200.

It would appear the larger Low boy will the new show build, it will be a lot of fun , and hopefully take you to  a little higher plateau .

We should be able to post some photos of the completed corner cabinet  later this week,

I am also finishing up the Mahogany table we did with Woodcraft magazine when the big snow hit , we will keep you posted as to when the article will be published .

well is back to finishing , and getting mahogany ready for the Low boy, later ya”ll

sounds good. we got snow today too and same as you we only had about 3 inches… made for a miserable day on carriages at shaws though. they called me in so i can live with that.

Also we got the dust collector turned on for the first time today 🙂 🙂 :)… :D… MAN THAT THING SUCKS. it could easily suck your hand in. works perfectly and its a nice addition to the shop. with the suction it looks like my shop will be much cleaner 🙂
