Having worked a fair amount of bubinga, I can tell you it scrapes much easier than it sands.
Bubinga works quite well with both hand and power tools, but it is hard, using good sharp tools is a must, it sands to a very smooth surface, but not easily – I much prefer scraping.

I ran into an issue, the splats twisted some when they dried, it happens, so I gave them a quick dip in hot water and twisted them around some then I clamped them all together, this forces them to be smooth and equally shaped.
A solid form would be better perhaps than the drying racks we [...]

The splats are dry, well, close enough….a little scraping and sanding and then it’s assembly time.
I will assemble the back and fronts then do the sides. The posts are 1 1/2″ square to begin with and I use a 5/8″ radius bit to round them up as much as I can, or rough them out [...]
